My Jesus Girl Lesson

I started keeping a little journal by my bed, I occasionally write in it people that I am praying for, things/people I am thankful for and things that have changed in my life from a year ago. I also write bible verses that I find lovely or meaningful to me at that time.  
Last night something told me to look at Romans 12:12, I wrote in in my journal and kept reading Romans 12. The next verse (Romans 12:13) is "Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." I wrote that in my book, I continued reading and also wrote Romans 12:20 in my book, "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink."
This morning I received a message about someone in need and would I be willing to help them. I instantly thought, I disagree with a lot of things the person does, so much that I "hid" them on facebook so that I no longer "had" to see their posts. I am always skeptical to just hand money to people, especially if I disagree with what they may do with it and/or believe they can do a better job of taking care of themselves. 
Well, after thinking about it, I remembered those bible verses I wrote down just twelve hours before. (By the way, This family that could use help is not my enemy at all.)  It is not my job to judge people or condemn them because they may not believe the same way that I do. Who am I to say what is right and wrong?!? 
Needless to say, I did my part in helping them and all because God led me to the decision last night by triggering me to look up that verse and think about it. 
God "tricked" me, just kidding, he taught me a good lesson. <3 span="">
Sometimes trying to be a good Jesus Girl is hard and humbling.

LifeGroup February 6th, 2013

Tonight was my second time to attend a LifeGroup.  My LifeGroup is mostly young women that get together a couple Wednesday nights a month for fellowship and sometimes a craft and sometimes review a book. Tonight we made Valentine treat bags for the LifeKid Volunteers at LifeChurch in Owasso, OK. My Aunt Paula, Mom, Heidi, Bridget, Demetria were there tonight and our LifeGroup leader is Mindy.
Mindy also did my nails after LG and her daughter Cali wrote Wyatt a couple notes on hearts for me to bring home to him.
Very much enjoyed tonight, spending time with other women that I relate to and am on the same path with.

Spring Break 2010

On Sunday March 14th Wyatt, Heidi and I left for our vacation. Nay Nay let us take her hummer since the ac is out on the tahoe. We left around noon and headed to Colleyville to our Aunt Cheryl's house. We had to stop in Durant at Jack in the Box to have tacos for Susan. Susan loves tacos. Aunt Cheryl made us lasagna for dinner.

On Monday we left around 8 and headed for San Antonio. We stopped at Red Rock at an outlet mall. We arrived at our hotel around 3 in the afternoon. We got checked in and then headed to Sea World. Wyatt wanted to visit Sea World. First we watched the killer whale show. It was wonderful, those things are huge and one of the whales had a baby that was born in January. Then we got a drink and popcorn. We saw a sea lion show. We saw penguins. Sea World also has s little water parked hooked onto the main park, Wyatt wore his swimming trunks so we headed there, Wyatt played in the water a little bit but it wasnt all open yet for the season. Then he was cold so we had to buy a towel for him. We also watched a pirate show in 4D. This reminded us of Disney World. Wyatt played on the largest jungle gym I have ever seen. We saw the alligators and then it was starting to drizzle. We took our picture with Shamu and then we left. We were all hungry so we stopped and got us Taco Cabana for me and Wy and Heidi got Whataburger and we ate it back at the hotel and then we sleep, really really good.

Sea World wasnt as great as i expected so I didnt want to go back on Tuesday and spend a whole day there. Heidi wanted to go to Corpus Christi (which is only 2 hrs away from San Antonio) so we headed there. On the way to Corpus Christi there was a tour bus that had fell onto its side so we had an at least hour long detour. Some other tourist had told us to go to Padre Island instead of Corpus Christi and said it was only 30 mins from Corpus Christi so we asked Wyatt. Padre or Corpus Christi and he chose Padre Island. The next problem was we didnt have any address to a beach so it took us a little extra time to find the National Seashore in Padre. Wyatt loved the ocean. Even though the sun wasn't out and it even rained a bit on us while we were walking along the beach it was still a great experience. We found lots of dead jellyfish. Wyatt picked up tons of sea shells and found a clam that was still closed and found 2 sand dollars. We wrote our names in the sand and watched the water wash them away. We drove the hummer along the beach. It was wonderful. Heidi and I put our feet in but Wy was determined to get in the water a little more then his feet, so he did. Then he was cold and ready to go. We stopped and shopped and grabbed some snacks and headed back to San Antonio.

A couple hours later we got back to San Antonio and Aunt Cheryl had told us about a fabulous place to eat called Mi Tierras Cafe. So we went there. They had a 2 hour wait. Even though they are open 24 hours a day. They are also known for their huge Mexican Bakery. So we took a number and waited to pick out what desserts we wanted to leave with since we were not eating dinner there. I have no idea what we got but it was all yummy and we picked up some for Aunt Cheryl. Around this area in downtown is also a "Mexican Market" to shop in. This didnt last long because Wyatt was scared by the environment. (It was dark.) In one shop there was people drinking beer and dancing where crosses, purses and figurines were being sold. It was something none of us were used to. We were also wore out. We stopped at Taco Cabana again for me and Jack in the Box for Heidi and ate dinner at our hotel again.

Wednesday we got up early enough to have breakfast at the hotel. We left by 11. We went back to Sea World. Wyatt wanted to ride the Rio Loco water ride and I wanted to see the dolphin show. We had paid for season passes anyways so we should see everything while we were in the area.

I had to write a little essay about my son for his teacher. He started 5th grade today. I thought I would share the essay on here.

Wyatt James Morrison is ten years old. His nickname is Wy or most young children call him WyWy.  He lives with his mother, three dogs and a turtle close to Herald Elementary. Wyatt has mostly grown up in Collinsville. He loves God, his family, his animals (and everyone elses animals), singing, the color red, sharks, drawing, riding his bicycle, scooter or any other of his many ride on toys, swimming, the ocean, hunting, playing baseball, traveling and America. Wyatt's favorite number is ten. He loves Selena Gomez and saw her in concert in November.  

Wyatt has four half sisters at his dads house and no brothers. Wyatt sees his dad every other weekend. He is his moms only child. He loves spending time with his Poppy (his moms dad, Dennis McGehee). Wyatt is the oldest of all the grandchildren, he has five cousins, (four girls and one boy). He is mostly surrounded by women and has mostly been raised by women. 

Wyatt is very softhearted and gets his heart broken easily. Wyatt is kind to everyone and makes friends effortlessly. He is polite, helpful, honest, loving, gracious, trustworthy, tolerant, friendly, affectionate, thoughtful, outgoing and trusts others quickly. 

Wyatt has visited fourteen states this year. He loves learning and history and the ocean. His favorite place he has visited is Washington DC because of the history and because there is a lot of patriotism there. Wyatt wants to visit Hawaii.

Wyatt is proud of the deer we have mounted, hanging in our living room, he shot it when he was eight years old while hunting in Western Oklahoma with his Poppy, the deer is a "9 point" buck. 

Wyatt's favorite school subject is spelling, the subject he enjoys the least is math.  He mostly makes "A's" in school and never gets into trouble. 

Wy likes to please people and sometimes tells you what he thinks you want to hear if that means he wont hurt your feelings.

My 32nd birthday, 2010

I turned 32 almost a year ago (August 31, 2010) so I realize this post should have came months ago but I just finished it.
My birthday extravaganza started at work with a beautiful cake, lots of presents, treats and a surprise visitor (with flowers), Wyatt.
Danya, Susan, Sara, Heidi, Wyatt and I had a wonderful lunch at El Tequila in Owasso. Of course I had to wear a sombrero and everyone sang Happy Birthday to me.
My cake was amazing, it was from Dee's Sweet Designs.

  After work I went to my moms house. She also had a cake for me and more presents. The cake was great!

 After my moms we all went to Cheddar's restaurant on 71st Street and had dinner. It was wonderful to have dinner with my wonderful friends and family. Ireland even wore a princess dress for me since it was my birthday!

Meet Ebi Stone Morrison

Woolaroc

On May 5th, 2011 Wyatt's 4th grade class visited Woolaroc in Barnesdall, OK. (http://www.woolaroc.org/) I took a vacation day and went with them. I hadnt been to Woolaroc since I was a child with my mom and dad so at least 20 years ago. The things I remembered about it was a life size buffalo statue that sucked up whatever you put up to its mouth, a trash can basically, I remember somewhere there was a big hanging red airplane and that in the house where Frank Phillips lived there was a playing card stuck to the wall, close to the ceiling that a magician stuck there was in a card trick during a dinner party and Frank Philips didnt want it ever taken down. Those 3 things are still there.

Im so thankful that I was able to go. We had a great time, its beautiful there. Wyatt enjoyed the same things I did when I was there as a child. He is growing up so fast.

I love Wyatt so much and enjoy spending time with him. He is such a sweet, kind, smart and loving little boy. I cant imagine where I would be in life if I wouldnt have became a mother.

Update

Wyatt is 10 and a half now.

I still work at at&t.

We just added a 3rd dog to our family. Her name is Ebi, she is a small Boxer.

We also added a red eared slider turtle to our family, we went to Reasor's (grocery store) when Wy was sick with strep throat to pick up a couple things and right in front of their store they sell plants/pumpkins/seasonal stuff, I almost stepped on this tiny turtle, Wyatt saw it and saved his/her life. It is the size of a silver dollar. We found out this type of turtle isnt from here and must have been shipped in with the plants that were being sold in front of the store. We took it home, thinking it was just a regular turtle, went to PetsMart the next day, showed a picture of the turtle to find out what it needed to eat and was told its an aquatic turtle and has to have an aquarium with heat, water and land so $60 later the turtle has a new home in our living room in an aquarium. Its name is Spike, (we need to figure out if its a girl or a boy).

Wyatt is on his 7th season of baseball, playing for the Collinsville Cardinals again. Lisa Eberle is still his coach and we love her. Wyatt is out of school for the summer and will be in the 5th grade in the fall! He is growing up so fast. Way too fast!!! It makes me so sad.

We just got back from Virginia last night. We were there from Thursday to Tuesday. We flew there on Southwest standby tickets (our first experience flying standby). Standby was nerve racking but well worth the money savings. We stayed at our friends Johnny and Amanda Lauser's house, however Amanda is in Germany having surgery and Johnny is in Alabama in air force training. So my best friend Susan is Johnny's mom, she went to VA to stay with the kids, Nate and Gracie, while their parents are gone, for about 3 weeks.

We also went to VA in March for 13 days. We drove with Susan and John that time, a 2 day trip there and 2 days back, staying the night in a hotel on the way there and back. That time Johnny and Amanda were in town and we did lots of touristy things like touring the White House, Pentagon, US Capitol (which is actually on a hill, now I understand why its called Capitol Hill), The Library of Congress, Ford's Theater and many more. We had a great time and drove through 9 states (counting Oklahoma) on that trip.

This trip we had a layover in Houston and Alabama on the way to VA and in Mississippi and Houston on the way back. We actually flew to and out of Baltimore-Washington International airport.

We figured out that so far this year Wyatt has been to 12 states (counting OK)!!! Growing up I never went to 12 states my whole 18 years of living at home all put together!!!

I want Wyatt to be a well traveled kid and to have many experiences. I want him to be able to say Yes, I have been there!

I love him more then my tongue can tell.

Baseball

Baseball season has started. Wyatt plays 10 & under this year which is kid pitch. So this is Wyatt's first year of kid pitch instead of coach pitch. We get new rules playing 10 & under. This is the first year Wyatt can steal bases and if the catcher drops the ball on the third strike the hitter can run to first base as if he hit the ball. This makes watching baseball much more exciting.

Wyatt's coaches name is Lisa. She hasn't ever been his coach before but Wyatt has played football and baseball before with Lisa's son Trey. We like her.

The team name is the Collinsville Cardinals. Very happy about that. Wyatt has played on the Buccaneers,  Rangers, Harrah Sandlot and this makes the 3rd year of playing on the Collinsville Cardinals.

A tournament started last night. We played at 7:45 last night. We lost. This morning we were supposed to play at 9:45, that was cancelled for unknown reasons. Then we were supposed to play at 1:00, the team we were playing decided to drop out of the tournament. So now we are scheduled to play at 6:00. But it looks like its going to rain.

I hope we have a great season!!

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 was wonderful. Heidi stayed the night with us at our house. Poppy came over Christmas morning and brought Wy presents and we played Cabelas

Big Game Hunter. It even came with a big orange rifle. Wyatt loves it of course. Then we all got ready and went to MeMaws house where Grandma was preparing us a wonderful Christmas dinner. We had to eat first before opening presents to get Wyatt to eat something. We had a great time and opened way too many gifts! It was a wonderful Christmas.
Cant wait until next year!!!! I also hope we have tons of snow in 2010 for Christmas too!!

Wyatt 9th Birthday Swimming Party

January 16th, 2010 we had Wyatts swimming party at the Claremore Recreation Center. It was lots of fun. It had the largest indoor swimming pool i have ever seen.

Wyatt invited 10 of his friends from school to come to the party. 3 of them came. Another boy named Wyatt, a "hottie" (Wyatt calls her that) named Julie and a boy named Tristian (whose mother dropped him off with no swimming trunks so he just sat and watched)!

They have a diving board, a slide, kinda of a rock wall, places to swim laps and a kinda kiddy pool (but hooked onto the big pool). It was such a nice pool I was really wishing I would have brought my swimsuit!

We had cookie cake. (Wyatt doesn't like cake.) I'm not sure whats wrong with him!

Wyatts best friend Wade came with us and he is staying the night with us tonight. Tony, Tonya and Alexis were there. My sisters Heidi, Jennifer and Lisa were there with my brothers in law Ricky and Brett and my nieces Abi and Kenzye and my nephew Caden. Grandma came. Aunt Paula, Micha and Laney Jo were there. Kayla, Aaliyah, Chaera, Kynden and Faith all swam.
Cassondra came with her 3 little girls Riley, Ireland and Kathrine.

We had a great time. If i have a complaint its

that it was so humid in there! I had to put my hair up and I was still sweating. But I understand its warm to keep the swimmers from freezing.

We had cookie cake on the Observation Deck overlooking the pool. It was very nice. But next time I will wear summer clothes and bring my swim suit!!
